Prototyping is the essential next step after development. Making a prototype enables you to test that your plastic product or packaging is functional, cost-effective, and ready for full-scale manufacturing.

Our prototyping process

Creating the prototype

We can use either 3D printing or small-batch moulding to create a functional prototype - selecting the most suitable materials for testing, which could include recyclable options.

Real-world testing and refinement

Factors such as structural integrity, weight, sealing performance, and durability can be evaluated. We can conduct drop tests, pressure tests, and compatibility testing for product safety. Then refine the product based on the real-world test results.

Prepare for full-scale production

To ensure the prototype is fully optimised for mass production, we will finalise material selection based on sustainability, durability, and cost-efficiency and move onto tooling and manufacturing without delays.

Transition between development and manufacture

Prototypes can be produced to validate the design before full-scale manufacturing begins. Prototyping allows us to identify and fix issues early, assess the aesthetics and branding impact of the design, and ensure compliance with regulations.
